National Speed Competition
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (.5 CEUs per leg for qualifiers)
Take part in a court reporting tradition! Contestants write and transcribe three five-minute legs—220 Literary, 230 Legal Opinion, and 280 Testimony—and qualify for each with an accuracy score of 95% or better. The best combined score wins the championship. Qualifiers can earn CEUs once every three-year cycle. To enter you must be an RMR or RDR and a member in good standing of NCRA. Logistics require that we know in advance how many will be participating, so the deadline for registering for the contest is the same as the convention registration deadline. No on-site registrations are permitted. Speed contest results will be announced at Saturday’s Awards Luncheon. A separate fee is required for the competition. See online registration.

Contestants qualify in each with an accuracy score of 95% or better, and the best combined score wins the championship. Qualifiers can earn CEUs once every three-year cycle. Logistics require that we know in advance how many will be participating, so the deadline for registering for the contest is the same as the convention registration deadline. No on-site registrations are permitted. Realtime contest results will be announced at Saturday’s Awards Luncheon. A separate fee is required. See online registration.
