On an almost daily basis, advances in technology are having an impact on the verbatim stenographic reporting profession, sometimes for good and sometimes for ill. Faced with severe budget cuts, courts have become battlegrounds as stenographic reporters fight to save stenographic jobs. In the freelance market, stenographic reporters compete with a growing variety of services and technology. This session gets to the heart of the matter. You will hear from experts, who bring realistic and pragmatic perspectives about how technology is affecting the stenographic reporting profession and what we can do to maintain and grow our influence in the future.
