The National Speed Competition was held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Contestants write and transcribe three five-minute legs—220 Literary, 230 Legal Opinion, and 280 Testimony—and qualify for each with an accuracy score of 95% or better. The best combined score wins the championship.
The winners were announced at the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, August 8, 2009. *
