RULES/GUIDELINES FOR CANDIDATE CHAT EVENT
The candidate chat event is an opportunity for the NCRA membership to participate in a forum that addresses the issues and topics important to you as a member. The candidates have the opportunity to address and respond to topics that you have put forth and to answer any of your follow-up questions. To ensure that each candidate can adequately answer your follow-up questions, and to ensure that each of you has adequate opportunity to ask your follow-up questions, the structure of this event will include the use of a moderator.
It is the moderator’s responsibility to adequately monitor this event to the level that benefits both the candidate and the membership. This is a difficult, if not impossible, task in the “chat” environment. I would request that each of you participating please adhere to the following guidelines recited below. And for convenience, here is the link to the Candidates Responses.
- Your comment settings should be set to “whisper.” All questions/comments should be sent through the moderator (wade garner).
- Questions/comments the moderator posts will be attributed to the author.
- No public chatting with other participants – “whisper” to them.
- No whispering by any attendee to the candidates at any time. Should the candidates need technical assistance, they have the authority to whisper to the moderator and/or the designated NCRA Online Forum Staff.
- Should we have time to open up the event for public chat, please respect other chat participants – please don’t belittle or insult another participant or the candidate.
- Please do not disrupt the flow of this chat event or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other participants.
- Upon entering the chat event, please remain silent. Withstand the temptation to greet others.
- If an attendee is losing their connection, i.e., being bounced off the chat, please remain silent and do not report the problem during the chat. You are free to reconnect as often as need be.
- No SHOUTING. Remember, using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in posts is considered yelling and rude, plus it is difficult to read.
- No irrelevant or off-topic posts/questions. Posts/questions which are not relevant to the chat event may be deleted at the moderator's discretion.
- Remember that anything you write during a public chat session is a public comment.
