You've spent years developing your skills in the court reporting profession. Now is your opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues and peers. You are invited to submit a seminar proposal for consideration as a presenter at NCRA’s 2009 Annual Convention & Exposition.
You can easily submit your proposal by using our online 2009 Midyear Conference & Annual Convention Call for Presentations Submission Form. Here is some helpful information:

Length of Presentation:
Most seminars are 90 minutes in duration. Some seminars may be scheduled for one hour.
Information to be Included With Your Submission
- Seminar title (10 words maximum)
- Seminar description (100 words maximum)
Sample Title and Description
Left Brain/Right Brain Marketing
In this interactive seminar you will gain insight into human behavior and how to effectively interact with other people. You will learn how to market your skills and demonstrate the value of a skilled reporter. This seminar will help you identify strengths and areas of improvement, and teach you how to interact effectively and market to other personality types.

- Learning outcomes as part of the description (minimum of two)
- Identification of seminar format: lecture, panel, case study, sharing best practices, other)
- Intended audience (officials, freelance reporters, CART providers, captioners, firm owners, etc.)
- A 100-word biography. (name, city and state, current position, school attended, special awards or accomplishments, etc.)
- Prior speaking engagements. (Please include two references with email addresses. Presentations to state affiliate associations, civic groups, religious organizations, business groups or other organizations are acceptable.)
How Papers Will be Evaluated
The review criteria will include the following:
- Relevance of topic to attendees
- Well-defined topic
- Original material
- Practical application of material
- Completeness of material
- Overall perceived level and quality of content
Other Speaker Information
Member speakers will receive a $200 honorarium. If there are more than two speakers on a panel, no honorarium will be paid. Speakers are not reimbursed for travel, airline, or hotel expenses. If attending the Annual Convention, speakers are required to pay the appropriate registration fee.
Speakers will be asked to provide a handout master and AV equipment requirements. NCRA will provide all AV equipment and will duplicate handout material for attendees.
