About the Seminars

Not Letting Fear Stand in Your Way
Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Fear alters our perceptions and stifles our authentic human expression. Fear is invasive and can cover a wide territory.

The gift of appropriate fear is that it can help us survive, but persistent fear, especially the kind that breeds dread, is unhealthy. Fear limits, inhibits, and can sabotage the choices you make for yourself.  Courage to address and mitigate fear is essential to living life well.

This seminar will define fear in a broad sense as well as assist you in identifying your personal fears and how they operate in your life. Your thinking process will be examined. New approaches and steps to confronting fears are given. Behaviors and skills which mitigate and redirect fear are taught. Mastering fear is a life long learning process. In part one of this mini series you will acquire practical, useful tools which will propel you toward a life in which fear is not holding you back.

Making the Life You Want
Tuesday, October 30, 2007

This seminar examines what you want in life. What matters to you in your heart of hearts is accessed. Ways to unearth and clarify your life purpose are given. Once you bring consciousness to what you genuinely want in this life, making it happen is the next step.

Your actions must back up what you say you want or you will not get what you say you want. Emotional and intellectual motivation are addressed. Concrete keys to getting and keeping yourself motivated are given. Learning to be who you are in your fullest, most authentic expression is emphasized.

This is a power packed seminar with useful and inspiring information that brings meaning to who you are and sets the stage for a more fulfilling life.

You will earn .15 CEUs for participating in each seminar. You can earn an additional .15 additional CEUs by successfully completing a home study exam on each of the seminars (successful completion is based on receiving a score of 70%).

Meet Your Presenters

Dorothea Brady

Dorothea Brady is the current President of LIFEWORKS Corporation which was founded in 1974. Joining the company in 1991, she and her husband purchased LIFEWORKS in 1995.    She is an expert in managing stress and recognizes the many aspects of life that are involved in this topic. She believes conscious awareness is integral to well being. Motivation, personal power, and authentic expression are also keen interests. She emphasizes that the value of individual responsibility is key to successfully resolving life’s dilemmas and consciously creating the life we want.

Together with her husband Jim, she has developed and facilitated an array of seminars. They have trained all levels of employees in government and business. Their marriage of twenty seven years and their ability to work together professionally gives them a deep appreciation for and an understanding of the many issues that can arise at home and at work.

A graduate of George Washington University, Dorothea majored in political science and psychology, with an English minor.  Her graduate work focused on clinical psychology.  Dorothea organizes and leads community projects and co-founded a nonprofit organization which supports and encourages the expression and humanity of children. In the spring of 2006, she organized and led the 18th annual “Celebration of Youth “Essay Contest in the Washington, DC Public Schools.

Jim Brady

Jim Brady is co- owner of LIFEWORKS Corporation and a senior consultant who consistently receives outstanding evaluations. He has over twenty- five years experience working with individuals and groups of all sizes in the corporate world and in government. During his tenure as Northeast Regional Director for a leading seminar company, he managed and created training programs designed to bring responsive and supportive management styles into the workplace. He believes that supporting people is key to a strong organization.

An area of real interest and importance to him is gender issues and preventing sexual harassment. His study of the subject led him to design, with his wife Dorothea, workshops that have been delivered to thousands of people across the United States. They have now facilitated seminars together on many topics in small and large organizations. He values having the perspective of both a man and a woman in facilitating these courses.

Jim has studied the psychology of learning and brings that expertise to facilitating a popular accelerated reading and learning course.  He is also a professional actor and community leader. In the spring of 2005, he was the production stage manager at the MCI Arena for a large show that honored the veterans of World War II; this event was specifically coordinated with the opening of the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC.
