Army Funding Brings Production of Flexible Displays Closer to Reality

A super thin screen that would also be extremely flexible could become a reality soon thanks to the US Army backing of research at Arizona State University's Flexible Display Center. This valuable technology could have field trials as soon as 2010. The Army has already invested $44 million in research and hopes that the new technology would allow operators in the field to send greater amount of information to soldiers and to replace the current bulky equipment.
