Thanks, Joyce.  I think that's what I was missing.  I went through options tab on all the forums, but did not do the "mark as read."

Smile, Serge!  You will be hearing much less from me now, I bet!

    Take care, Colleen

That worked.  Much, much better.  Thanks again.

    Joyce Z. Casey:

Colleen, I followed a tip posted by, I believe, Brenda Rogers in another thread.  You can go into each individual forum, click on More Options at the bottom of the screen, and click on, I think it's Mark as Read, and then Apply.  It does take a little while, but once you do that, whenever you come to the forum using the bookmark you're using, you will see only the threads with new postings that you haven't read, in my case usually a list of 20 or so threads.  It works really well, and I bless Brenda for that advice!!

I did this too....but now I can't go back and read old threads....unless I'm missing something.

    Hi, Andrea,

I think if you want to see old threads is to go to that more options link and set it so it'll show more messages - there are several choices for days and weeks and months.  I've found that one month seems to work best for me.  When I click on a topic - like NCRA Online, for example - threads with new messages I've not yet read are a darker font.  If I've already read every mssg in a thread, it's a gray font.

Thanks, Andrea and everyone that's been guiding me along here.

Serge?  Candis?  Do you think it would be helpful to have a post listing popular settings for frequent visitors, less frequent and occasional along with the instructions for editing your profile and avatars, etc.?

    Take care, Colleen

Yes I am planning on writing more informational articles and placing them in the Visitors Center.

I think that would be an excellent addition to the blog section.  I will start a blog on the topic, and please feel free to respond with comments.  Here's a link to the blog in the Vistors' Center.

Well, it's been a busy day buzzing in and out of here.  I now see I don't get a "page expired" notice anymore.  Great!  I could get used to this place . . .

    Take care, Colleen
