    What a week it was.......

I started out wondering what last week would be like in Anaheim.  Many of you might not know that Donna Collins and I had only met once before we met up in Anaheim for our campaign.  I'm proud to say I have a new friend now.  We had a lot of fun together and our campaign was very congenial.  She had better candy at her table though.

Thank you to all who voted for me and for Donna and for Melanie and for Jason.  It shows that many of you were excited about the elections and being able to participate in Direct Member Voting.  Our association would not have lost no matter who won which election.  (I don't know if that's a good sentence, but you know what I mean)

I hope we can all start now by beginning to work together for the good of our profession and NCRA with Karen Yates leading the way.

BTW, Breck Record is a great dancer, and that dance floor was jam-packed all night.

I'll second that emotion!  Tami even loaned me candy when mine ran out, and she has photos of us together at each other's tables.  It was a very exciting and fun week.  Now let's all work toward getting membership back up in NCRA.  No voice, no choice!

A pic of you and Breck dancing together?  Well, that has front cover of the Men of Court Reporting calendar all over it!

Tami, it was great to finally meet you and get to know you.

We are truly an association of class acts, and it was an honor to be among the finest of them all.

And I wondered what they teach down in Texas!  Breck is a fantastic dancer!  And Adam, you're pretty good there yourself!!  Wink

Thank you all for a wonderful and memorable convention!!

PS...Tami, thank you for your help in preparing for Sunday's session.  It went well, with a pretty decent turnout!  Yes

Sarah, I was glad to get to know you too, and I'm glad the session went well.

A pic of Breck and Adam dancing together.......hmmm, I'm sure it will show up somewhere sooner or later.  They make a cute couple.

Re: What a week it was.......

The dancing was definitely fun. There must have been something with that black beret I was wearing......or, it was probably having my great friend Linda Kaiser, as well as Judy Lehman, to help me get going. Adam was great except he kept trying to lead. Lololol Seriously, all kidding aside, I did dance a lot bt not nearly the dance that Karen Yates put on with the 10 X 10 speech and serving notice that we are professionals. Class, class, class act all the way around, Madam President. Kathy DiLorenzo, beautiful job and congrats on your year. To the four candidatea, Donna, Tami, Melanie and Jason, you-all each were perfect examples of the definition of professionalism and class. Each of you had the qualities to serve and it is unfortunate that all of you couldn't have a position on the board. I think everyone agrees that we would have been happy regardless of which side won those races. Again, class, class, class and dignity. I made a lot of new friends - and I mean that sincerely - and put a llot of faces with emails. Overall, while it may not have been the largest convention ever, it sure was fun being there. And the Staff did a wonderful job of doing what they could to make everything appar to run smoothly. I'm honored to be a member of NCRA and I hope that we can now go about doing the business of what our profession is about. We are one of a kind and the cream of the crop. (Tipping beret)

    Hi, all,

This year's convention was a great experience.  Anyone I had a chance to talk with was enjoying the experience.   I didn't hear a negative word from anyone.

I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to spend much time at the vendor expo because I was involved with the ACE It CART training and the days zipped by.  Gene and I thoroughly enjoyed the party.  The entertainment was great.  Everyone clearly had a great time.

It was great being part of ushering in Karen's term.  I know good things will be happening.

I'll look forward to continuing the discussion with everyone after arriving home and working through the inevitable jet lag.

    Take care,

    Colleen

Upon closer inspection, I can see that I need to train Adam on the proper way to hold my hand.  LOLOLOL

As you can see, him grabbing me by the wrist, shows that I wasn't a willing participant in the picture.  Just kidding.  My secretary thinks I should change my name from Breck to Bareck......now that she's seen the picture.

I can't wait to see other pictures from the event.  I know there was a professional photographer there at the convention.  Maybe he will have his pics up sometime this week.
