While everyone was out enjoying themselves in Anaheim, a number of Texans were here at home trying to write letters concerning changes in our certification board rules that we did not think would be good for Texas. To follow that up, the officials had a seminar in Houston and Glenda Fuller, Robin Cooksey and Linda Kaiser were three of the that came in from out of town to help present the seminars. (Forgive me if I forgot someone but those were the three I knew about.)
I received a long e-mail from one of the courthouse reporters today saying that we all truly inspired her. She said she had had lunch with two other reporters and they are all three going to join all the associations -- local, state and national -- and will actively test for the RPR. She said, "We need to be active."
Now I would say that is good news and can be accomplished everywhere. I will tell you that inspired me.
I will say. too, that ConcernedReporters, www.concernedreporters.com, is making a difference. They had a booth at the Texas convention and handed out IMMAD bracelets. That stands for I May Make a Difference. They encouraged reporters to belong to all their associations as well. So I thank them as well.
With the new beginning we are having at NCRA, I hope this will inspire everyone to know what a word of encouragemenrt can mean to someone.
