    Magnum Steno

Did anybody at the convention (or otherwise) figure out how this is different from Mark's previous books/products?

Wynne, from what little I can remember from the TCRA Annual Convention in San Antonio in June, I believe it's all of his briefs, his "theory," etc., all in one book.  If you have the previous book, it's thinner and they sent out an addendum to it.  Sorry that I can't give any more details than that.  Perhaps someone else who was at the TCRA convention will know.

I spoke with Mark when I bought it and this book has additional and new phrasing and he has incorporated using the "Z" for plurals so that means that some of the original outlines changed.  The Stenomaster book was designed for students to learn the theory and this Magnum Steno is for those already writing and would like a faster way to write things and phrases. It is organized by multisyllabic words then phrases.  The phrases sections are organized by a particular word.   These, those, of, went, want, etc.   Tons more phrase briefs.  If you are familiar with his theory, you will find the new outlines easy to grasp.  Personally, I love the new book of information.  So in short, it's a new dictionary to have with his original Short Stroke Dictionary.

    Thanks, Ann and Virginia,

    Good info.

But it's more than just a dictionary, right?  It has lessons and practice sentences?

No lessons, no practice sentences. Just a resource.

Virginia, any idea if it is in book form only or if it also comes on a CD?  I much rather have CDs than books these days.

It is a book, a big book. I would like a CD also but I don't think there is one.  You can email Mark -- if you have that information -- to ask.  I didn't see one at his booth.
