    Lillian:

Tendency for vein scarring is genetic.  I got told to officially cool it two years ago when I was going through my treatment for DCIS.  I am just one of the lucky ones with crappy veins Smile

I used to love donating.  When I was in college and I could go in on a regular visit, we'd have races to see who could fill the bag fastest.  I am not sure what all I can donate for anymore because I haven't tried since my diagnosis.  I'm completely cancer free, but not sure if that would affect bone marrow or anything else.  I would definitely donate if I could and I were a match for somebody, though.

You ladies are the best!!  You've inspired me to donate the next time there's blood drive at work.  It's been a long time since I've given and you've given me food for thought.

Lillian, by the way, that condition is called vaso vagal syncope (or reaction). I have that condition also and I've almost fainted a couple of times. I've had it since I was about 12 years old.

    Vaso vagal, yes.

I asked the nurses not to tell my husband what had happened (because the previous surgery the same thing almost happened and I blamed it on him for being in the room with me and getting me all nervous.  Well, this time I chased him out and it happened anyway, even worse.)  So the nurse came back with:

"What happens in vaso vagal, stays in vaso vagal."  Ha!!!
