    Getting unwanted e-mail notifications!

I just received two e-mail notifications of postings to threads by Bill Parsons that I never subscribed to and I cannot even find the threads to go in and unsubscribe.  I am particularly interested in not receiving posts to any of these threads so can someone tell me how to stop them?  Thank you.

    The specific threads are:

"Some firms receiving discounted bonus ad rates of $1,700 under the market rate of ads"

"The board's big give-away gets bigger and bigger"

    Chuck:

No idea at all why you'd suddenly be receiving email notifications -- we're going to solve that very, very shortly by changing to a new forum software -- it's currently being tested to ensure that all functions are working as advertised! -- keep an eye out for an announcement, hopefully a little later today.

With regard to Bill's postings, he has been warned that any posts of his that violate our forum rules will be removed from public view, and the posts you're referring to have been removed for that reason.

I am also receiving these email notifications and would like them to stop.  I've never participated in any of these threads and did not sign up to get automatic emails.

    Chuck,

You might be able to set preferences or rules for your incoming email messages.  If you can, you might be able to send all messages which contain certain words directly to your deleted messages box.  You'll still receive them, but at least they won't be in your inbox.

    Chuck is not alone!

MSN forum has a lot of people griping about the same issue.  And only notifications on THIS topic, no other.  These folks also say they have their email notifications turned OFF.  One lady said she is not a member and that NCRA doesn't even have her email, which is really weird!

Can someone (or all of you) please forward me the e-mail you received?

    senrmr@yahoo.com

I want to compare it with the actual notifications I do receive.  I do not think these "automated responses" are coming from NCRA and/or the forum, but I need to do a comparison.

    Thanks!

I got the same e-mails and it shows the sender as NCRA Online Community - Automated Response, but if you check the e-mail address it is really notset@localhost.com.  Pretty sneaky....

On second thought, maybe that's not unusual.  I haven't been on the forum for a while and maybe that's how the e-mail shows up when you subscribe to a thread, but I haven't subscribed to any threads at all either.  Weird.

Michele, notset@localhost.com is, in fact, the e-mail address that the forum e-mails comes from.

That's what I get for pretending to know what I'm talking about Tongue Tied

    That's good to know.

I did forward the e-mails I received as requested so hopefully you can get to the bottom of it.
