Hi, Megan. Yeah, that sounds a wee bit stressful. I wish I had some answers for you. I use the Mira with Eclipse. I've not tried to do a J-define, tho, w/ the Mira, so I don't know if that would cause me problems or not. I do have to adjust the keys more often than I'd like. For the first year or so, the Mira was great. Then it seemed to

Hi, Jo Ann Nope, you're not doing anything wrong. After you register with your first and last name and create your password, some magic behind the scenes happens to allow you to have access. Hopefully it will be a short time for that magic to happen. Because this is the first day of the new forum, there's a lot of activity, a lot of people trying

Hi, Sarah. Shout all you want - it's exciting when everything is working properly! Re the audio volume, i'm no techie but my vote is to keep it in the green. Turn it down just a notch. FWIW, on one computer I have, the recording is better when I mute it first - just click the little speaker icon in the sys tray and click "mute." It

Phil, phil, phil. I am the good twin. SHE is the evil twin! Maybe my halo is too blinding and you're just not seeing it. I'm doing great. We're starting a four- to six-week trial. I'm thinking about remodeling my house (negotiating w/ the contractor now. Hopefully we can agree on a price). No overseas trips planned yet. Furballs are

So you did it. You retired! Woo-hoo!!! Good for you!!!!

Janice, As Sarah mentioned, there are different "view" options, so that may explain why we're seeing different things. FWIW, I've gotten used to Vista, too. If you do wind up w/ Vista, you might want to consider taking a Vista class - online or through your local community college or parks and rec or maybe even library.

Oh, Geez, janice. Memory test. Let me see if I can figure out where that boost thing is. .. I think I found it. Control Panel/Sound/Recording tab. Double click Microphone. Boost should be one of the options in there. I have the slider bar all the way down to zero.

Janice In case this may help, I'm on Eclipse and Vista. Here are my audio settings: Speex 11.0kbits/sec, 8.0kHz, Mono, Q6, 1kb/sec I believe I had to turn off the microphone boost. I know I had to just try various choices before finding one that worked well. Hope this helps you out.

Cindi, speaking of books with typos, I once read a true-crime drama. It was actually an interesting story and one I wasn't familiar with. Near the very end of the book, there was some kind of production error because several pages were obviously missing and a few pages were repeated. I took the book to a couple different bookstores to exchange it
