I've found it helps to sit next to "monotone types." You can usually hear them draw a little breath before they change to another topic. Of course, if the seating arrangement can't be changed...... .

I think it's inexperience on the part of the newbie attorneys. Or it could be they think anybody who sits near a keyboard must be their support staff. Chuckle. Boundaries are appropriate in these situations, folks.
