Deanna, I believe we're talking about the same thing. What you call "stick drive" is what I call "thumb drive" or "flash drive." I guess we can just call it it USB drive. I have a 1 gig one, but I know there are the larger ones out there for great prices. This is great to know that you can drag and drop the install

Deanna, But how do you get the full Eclipse program (with the visualizers and everything, the one that comes on the CD) onto the USB stick. I guess by USB stick you're meaning a flash drive? I read Carolyn's post prior to talking to support, when I was thinking about making a mad dash and getting the Aspire One, but they told me I'd have

Thanks for the detailed instructions, Sarah. I followed them to the letter, and on the Levels tab, all I have is something called Balance. There is no Microphone Boost at all. Audio is still a bit choppy and not very loud. Like I said before, when I click on the Mixer on the speaker icon on the task bar, there are only two slider bars, Speakers and

Tricia, That sounds like how you do it on XP. Don't know if it's the loaner I have, but the look of the whole audio settings is totally different than XP. Don't see a boost option. Even when I double-click on the speaker icon in the task bar, it only has a couple of options with slider bars and not the six or seven I'm used to. Having

Thanks, Carolyn. That's good information to know. The one at Fry's does have 1 gig of RAM, according to their website: http://shop2.frys.com/ShopCartServlet I've been on the phone with support much of the day and have a workable solution, I think. Thanks for the info. I don't have a wireless setup, so that's not an issue with me

Carolyn, What software are you running the Aspire One on? I am on Eclipse and have my Fujitsu tank in for repairs, the one with every port imaginable, even a parallel port! The loaner they gave me has Vista on it. They didn't have any with XP on it. I'm having a little trouble with it. The audio is HORRIBLE. I have a call in to support to see

Great, Theresa! Glad I could help. I really need to bite the bullet and get a couple of them, too. I agree, Sarah, I could never talk you out of it. I think it would be a great marketing tool for you!

They also have plenty in stock now at MicroCenter for only $349.99! http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0293528 There was a thread about this over on depoman.com a few weeks ago: http://members.spboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=4471&mforum=depoman

Oh, Karen, I'm with you on that. I understand, foliage you can't control -- maybe they ought to consider it, though, when they're deciding which scenes to film -- but you can control whether the girl's hair is wet in one cut of the scene and dry in the same scene. There are so many examples that I can't think of, but I see it all

I'm reading this for the first time, too, on 9/19. I'm not sure if this post was buried somewhere or if I just overlooked it. That's great news, and it's good to report to other naysayers of Concerned Reporters, that that group is promoting membership in NCRA and is truly for the good of this profession. Keep up the great work, Shirley
